New Style Network Weekly Series “Married Away” Follows Couples Across the Globe in Pursuit of a Dream Wedding
Brides-to-Be + Wedding Planners + Exotic and Unpredictable Locations = Wedding Drama, Surprises and Fairytale Endings
Series Debuts December 5 at 9 PM ET/PT and kicks off Style’s two week “White Wedding” Stunt
What if you could spin a globe and pick any spot in the world for your wedding? Would you choose someplace warm and sensual, like Tahiti; cold and snowy like an Austrian mountaintop, or would it be some desperately romantic spot, like Italy’s Tuscany Region? Nowadays, destination is the hottest trend in wedding planning. WHERE you marry is almost as important as WHOM you marry! The new one-hour weekly Style Network series, “Married Away,” captures all the joy, unpredictability and drama of faraway nuptials as it follows two couples, their families and wedding planners all over the world in search of the perfect wedding. It all begins when “MARRIED AWAY” premieres Tuesday, December 5 at 9:00 PM ET/PT, only on Style.
Uniting two families in holy matrimony is one thing, but bringing together two very different clans in a faraway location is quite another. Between the planning, the partying, the accommodations, the expectations, the culture clashes and the jagged nerves, the scene is rife for drama of the highest order. What do you do when your future mother-in-law hates the lodging you’ve arranged or you learn at the last minute that the special flowers you ordered did not arrive on the proper flight? When other languages, cultures and traditions come into play, executing a wedding in a country that is not your own can be quite a challenge. But the brides and grooms of Married Away are determined to have their weddings WHERE they want them and HOW they want them.
• Tamara & Teddy are heading to Curacao for the island’s Dutch vibe. They’re both single parents looking forward to bringing their big southern families together for the vacation of a lifetime.
• After meeting online just two months ago, Army boy Joe and former Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Renay decide to tie the knot in Ilihani, Hawaii.
• Chris proposed to Vicki in Italy, and now they are returning to get married under the Tuscan sun.
• Sayeh and Scott, die-hard fans of the television show “Dallas,” travel from Staten Island, NY (with his Brooklyn family and her Persian family in tow) to be married at the South Fork Ranch made famous by their favorite show.
Some of the places “Married Away” will visit include: Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santa Fe; Jamaica’s Half Moon Resort; Puerto Rico; Salem, Massachusetts; Austria; Aruba; Chile; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Italy and the Turks & Caicos Islands. Some choose a distant locale they’ve always dreamed about visiting Others want to tie the knot in the spot where they first met their betrothed while on a tropical vacation. Still others are packing up families and flying them halfway around the world in order to accommodate their future spouse’s family. Whatever the reason, these couples seek a little adventure in the happiest day of their lives and Style is there to capture every juicy moment of the action. The romance, the nerves, the glamour and the squabbling - it’s all a part of “Married Away.”
